Andres is a depressed sports agent that lives in Los Angeles, Ca but was raised as a kid in Ecuador. When he quits his job after a couple of problems happen to him and goes back to Ecuador to put his life together he meets VINCENT, (Carlos Valencia, 'Ratas ratones y rateros') who saves Andres from a robbery after having the worst day of his life. Together, they make it to the Mixed martial arts Sport by supporting and believing on each other after fighting their way on the streets. With Art direction from acclaimed Roberto Frisone ('Cronicas,' '1809-1810 mientras llega el dé,' 'The Dancer Upstairs,' 'Proof of life') and appearance of Jiu-jitsu legend Royce Gracie (Ultimate fighting, Pride fighting championship) and the same crew that made the award winning 'El Nié§ de la bicicleta de 3 ruedas', comes this ultra-realistic (no make up) street fighting crusade through the streets of Guayaquil, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. 'Fighter' is the personal story of two men on separate downward spirals whose lives intersect, triggering a bond between them that transforms both. Andres, a sports agent living in L.A., personally and professionally destitute, decides to return to his roots in Ecuador for a respite. There he is viciously attacked by three robbers but escapes serious injury when Vincente, a young Ecuadorian laborer suffering the worst day of his life, decides to take out his frustrations on the bandits. After witnessing Vincente's overwhelming display of fighting prowess, Andres hatches a plan that will lead both men into the sport of mixed martial arts - Vincente as a combatant and Andres as his manager. To prepare for his entry, Vincente receives training from Royce Gracie. 'Fighter' will present mixed martial arts as the electrifying, yet disciplined, tactically challenging and fair-minded sport that millions of fans around the world have embraced. The film will focus on the dedication, fortitude and smarts that the participants must possess to make it to the top. LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Hoshi Studios (www.hoshistudios.com) announced that the cameras rolled December 30th on 'Fighter', a dynamic story set in the world of mixed martial arts. The film, co-produced with top Latin America production company Vida Intellegente Films, will be shot in Ecuador and the U.S. The film will star Carlos Valencia, a top Latin American box office draw. Mixed Martial Art's legend, Royce Gracie, is scheduled to appear as himself. Hoshi Studios has assembled an energetic team to put the story onto the screen. This includes visionary Art Director, Roberto Frisone (Cronicus, The Dancer Upstairs, Proof of Life), as well as the award-winning Director of Photography, Charlie Perez. The film will be helmed by Robert Estrella, an up and coming director whose credits include commercials, music videos, and the short film 'El Nié§ de la Bicicleta de 3 Ruedas' which won first place at the 'Festival de Artes al Aire Libre'.
